As the leading technology service provider in the region, FPT Japan did jointly hold Vietnam IT Day 2018 together with Vietnam Software Association (VINASA), Japan Information Industry Association (JISA) and Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC) from February 26th until March 2nd in four large cities of Japan: Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka and Fukuoka.

The first day of Vietnam IT Day 2018 took place in Tokyo has attracted more than 200 participants including government officials, representatives from leading corporations in technology and telecommunications sector as well as representatives from large associations such as Japan Information Industry Association (JISA) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Vietnam’s Ambassador in Japan with 21 enterprises from Vietnam also presented at this event.

Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Chairman of FPT Software, in his keynote speech at the event, introduced Vietnam as an ideal outsourcing destination for Japanese enterprises because of the young workforce, reasonable labor cost, stable political environment and strong economic growth, especially the similar culture between Japan and Vietnam. In addition, he also affirmed that FPT Software’s capabilities of Big Data, IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Smart Factory will certainly help Japanese enterprises in the Digital Transformation journey.

Mr. Tran Duc Tri Quang, Head of Cloud Technology Department, FPT Japan, has showcased FPT Software’s Digital Transformation capabilities with many case studies in the field of Smart Measure as well as AI Platform – Akaminds – which has been developed by FPT Japan over the last two years.


Also at the event, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, CEO of FJP, was the moderator for the panel discussion with the theme “The future for Vietnam-Japan cooperation under the scenario of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The panel discussion took place with participation of guest speakers from leading companies in Japan. The guest speakers discussed about the future of cooperation in high-technology such as AI, IoT, Big Data, etc. The issue of IT workforce development, China + 1 strategy in the Fourth Industrial Revolution were also discussed. The opinions from Japanese guest speakers both showed interest towards Vietnam and the willingness for further cooperation.

Vietnam IT Day 2018 has opened up many cooperation opportunities between the two countries’ enterprises, and brought useful information to Japanese companies who intend to invest in Vietnam. With objective sharing from clients, this is a good opportunity for Vietnam’s IT companies to develop an appropriate business direction and strategy in the Fourth Industrial Revolution which helps to bring more value to customers in general and Japan market in particular.

February is often the time when Japanese enterprises build up the business plan for the whole year. Therefore, the annually held Vietnam IT Day is considered a great chance for Vietnamese enterprises to meet and discuss the cooperation opportunities, especially in the field of Information Technology.
