An Engineer by qualification, he has experience in the Manufacturing, Banking and Insurance sectors in renowned multinational and local conglomerates throughout his 32-year career. He has worked in various fields including quality engineering, human resources, communications, administration and corporate services prior to his current role managing MIDF’s development finance business.
He is a Fellow of The Association of Certified Chartered Accountant, United Kingdom (“ACCA”), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”) and a frequent speaker at seminars and public forums delivering various topics on the capital market activities particularly on IPOs.
Anuar was a committee member of the Securities Commission’s Securities Industry Development Centre’s (“SIDC”) Licensing Examination Committee and was also a member of Bank Negara Malaysia’s Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme’s (“FSTEP”) Education Module Quality Assurance Committee. He also previously chaired the Malaysian Investment Bank Association’s (“MIBA”) Corporate Finance Committee.
He has more than 35 years of experience in both the private and public sectors in management with a focus on finance, strategic management, venture capital, and export marketing. He helped to list a company on the Second Board in the mid 90’s and served as the Executive Director. He was also the Corporate Director of a Main Board listed company for 5 years. Two years ago, he was the IPO Consultant for a theme park company that was listed on Catalist, Singapore.
Currently, he runs a boutique consultancy that advises SMEs in financial, strategic and export management. He is also a Business Coach to SME Entrepreneurs in VISTAGE, Malaysia and writes frequently on issues affecting SMEs. He is also the Hon Secretary-General of SAMENTA (Small and Medium Enterprises Association).
