FPT and Fujitsu launch smart agriculture project in Vietnam

Fujitsu Limited and FPT Corporation, on 24th Feb 2016, announced the opening of the Fujitsu – FPT Akisai Farm and Vegetable Factory to spotlight the Fujitsu Intelligent Society Solution “Akisai” Food and Agriculture Cloud, in Hanoi. The partnership aims to apply cloud computing technology into the development of a smart agricultural model in Vietnam.

 

 

The opening ceremony was held at the Vietnamese National University of Agriculture with the participation of special guests from two governments, including: Minister of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Cao Duc Phat, Deputy Minister of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology Mr. Tran Viet Thanh; the Ambassador of Japanese Embassy to Vietnam Mr. Yanagi Jun together with representatives from the two companies.

At the opening ceremony of the FPT-Fujitsu smart agriculture cooperation centre, Chairman of FPT Mr. Truong Gia Binh underscored that being a leading IT enterprise in Viet Nam, FPT wants to bring state-of-the-art technologies to modernise the country’s agriculture.

There is no border between agriculture and industry. Smart agriculture will become the symbol of farming in Viet Nam, Japan and the whole world,” Binh said, adding that FPT Corporation will work with relevant organisations and individuals to put smart horticulture into practice in Vietnam.
