On November 25th, FPT welcomed the Myanmar Government delegation led by Minister of Communications and Information Technology U Aung Zay Yar visiting Vietnam. During the visit, leaders from both sides have meeting to discuss the development of FPT Myanmar.

Speaking at the meeting, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh asserted: “Myanmar is a market of great opportunity for FPT Corporation, just like Vietnam 15 years ago, so it’s possible that FPT can repeat its history here. This is a long-term strategy for the corporation.”. According to Mr. Binh, with the past experience and the current situation, FPT can leverage telecommunications to increase the speed of development in Myanmar, where Internet infrastructure is evolving rapidly.

On the scope of the meeting, Mr. Binh and FPT leaders also outlined the achievements of FPT in recent years with the globalization strategy, and hope to be able to apply the same experience and achievements in Myanmar, where FPT identified as one of the key markets of the globalization strategy.

Responding to FPT’s statements, Myanmar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Zay Yar Aung U He congratulated FPT for its achievements in recent years. He noted the initiative from FPT and promised to give early response: “Myanmar considers science and technology as the most important national strategy for development. Therefore, FPT’s proposal is worth attention from Myanmar’s government. I promise to have an answer as soon as possible to support the development of FPT Myanmar “.

FPT has entered Myanmar since the early days after the country opened to global economic integration. FPT established its branch named FPT Myanmar on May 7th, 2013, which originally focused on the field of system integration.
