On the occasion of a meeting between Minister, Chairman of Government Office Mai Tien Dung and Korean leading corporations, precious cooperation opportunities were opened up, some of which were proposed to FPT in the fields of e-Government, Smart City, Smart Factory, etc.

The meeting, which is within the ministerial visit to South Korea for e-Government Survey System, was hosted by FPT Japan – Korean Branch with the participation of senior leaders from 12 Korean leading corporations including LG, Samsung, Hanwha, Lotte, SK Holdings, etc. Commencing the event, the Minister presented about Vietnam’s positive investment environment and open policy. He also emphasized the importance of high technology in developing e-Government to improve the public administration’s efficiency as well as called for the support and cooperation from Korean enterprises.

Senior leaders of major Korean corporations proposed to join hands to implement e-Government, Smart City and Smart Factory, train IT labour force as well as bring the latest technologies such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Blockchain, Big Data into application in Vietnam. At the event, FPT was offered a cooperation proposal in deploying Smart Factory in Southeast Asia by SK Holdings – one of the largest conglomerates in South Korea. “FPT absolutely concurs with this offer and we commit to providing fullest support to SK Holdings”. FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh said. “Vietnam is a manufacturing center with a lot of assembly, component producing, garment, footwear factories. In order to optimize manufacturing operation, cut down cost and shorten production time, it is essential that high technology be applied. Hence, FPT is focusing on Smart Factory as one of steps towards Industry 4.0”.

Another large conglomerate, Hanwha, also looked forward to collaborating with FPT to develop Multi Robot Data Acquisition and Monitoring System. Meanwhile, Samsung SDS expressed their desire to contribute to the Vietnam Government’s plan on developing 150,000 IT engineers in Vietnam by 2020 by cooperating with Vietnamese enterprises to establish educational institutions such as FPT University – the first Vietnamese university offering professional education in IT.

Over the past years, FPT has been a key enabler in digital government transformation for developing products and solutions forming a large percentage of the digital backbone of many local, provincial, departmental and ministerial governments. In the near future, Chatbot interface, Artificial Intelligence engine and Big Data will be deployed to accelerate government digital transformation. In April 2018, FPT has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on transforming Da Nang to a Smart City. Regarding Smart Factory, FPT has invested a strong and aggressive commitment by leveraging partnerships with top giants such as Siemens and GE. Some success stories at a global scale include: Monitoring worker performance and watching worker position by collecting data in factory and sending to MindSphere, Visualization as Charts for working out by machine status, etc.

With presence in 33 countries all over the world, FPT has become a Vietnam technology pioneer in conducting business in Korea when its Korean representative office was set up in 2016. This dynamic Asian country has been considered a high potential market for FPT’s development since FPT Korea’s growth rate reached 300% in 2017. With key strategic technologies focusing on Smart Factory, Automotive and RPA, FPT Korea has cooperated with Korean giants in developing IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment), co-developing robotics software, and so on. Recently, the company has just signed a three-party agreement with Inter Solution Technology – IST và Two-tone on manpower development and brand promotion in Vietnam and South Korea which applies Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Automotive and Smart Factory. The agreement aims to provide solutions to millions of SMEs in Southeast Asia and China.
