In the framework the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland on Jan 19th, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has started his working day with a meeting with 15 top global companies in the field of aviation, technology, finance, insurance, etc. FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh also participated in the meeting as a member of WEF and a representative for the Vietnamese IT industry.

Speaking at the meeting, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asserted: “We are switching our economic motivators to other fields with high added values, applying high quality technology and resources”. The leader of government believes that the 4th industrial revolution is changing the outlook of the world and the way people live and work. In Vietnam, IT field is blooming and is “innovating” other fields like agriculture, transportation, healthcare, and education.

We plan that, until 2020, Vietnam will be in top 10 of the world in software outsourcing services and digital contents with about 1 million people working in this field”, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said and shared that, one of the priority programs in the framework of APEC Summit Conference in 2017 that Vietnam registered to organize is to improve the competency in digital era and innovation in IT is the most important growth motivator.

Joining the meeting with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of global top companies, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared: “Only at Davos can you connect with over 10 billions-dollar-companies at a breakfast. I’m happy that they were enthusiastic with the PM’s determined decision to open the sky of Vietnam for modern logistics and his support for the development of IT infrastructure”.

 

According to FPT President Truong Gia Binh, the whole world is talking about Internet of Things, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. “WEF is a valuable forum for participating enterprises like FPT. Here, we can meet and share Vietnam and FPT’s technology capabilities with global leaders in any sector”, said Mr. Truong Gia Binh.
