The new logo
For the first time in its 22-year history, FPT Corporation
has decided to change its brand identity, including all
logos and trademark symbols attached with FPT products.
The new brand strategy aims to deliver the new key message
of "Energizing Life". The revised logo image is designed to
be more modern, dynamic and friendly. The core spirit of the
FPT brand is: FPT brings smart energy to customers,
partners, businesses and consumers with intelligent IT
services and solutions. The new brand strategy plans further
FPT developments pursuing "For e-citizens".

Delegation visits FPT Software Danang (FSDN) |

FSDN’s Board of
Management welcomed a high-level delegation from iPERINTIS
Sdn Bhd, MALAYSIA from September 12 – 14, 2010.
AccompanyingMr. John Miller (CEO of iPERINTIS) were his
representatives plus Directors in charge of Business
Development and Customer Management. This special visit aims
to share cooperation opportunities as well as the
development orientation of the two business parties. They
also wanted to study the Offshore Software Development
Center (OSDC) model in FSDN.

FPT Software Australia has signed the first project in New
Zealand with IP Ventures. This project is designed to
produce a new ‘touch’ keyboard for the iPad that optionally
replaces the standard QWERTY keyboard. This is also
considered FPT Software’svery first iPad project. |

Telehouse
Vietnam comes on line in Hanoi |
A joint data venture, between FPT Information System (FIS),
KDDI Corporation and Japan’s ITX Corporation,called
Telehouse Vietnam began operating in Hanoi on September 7,
2010. This aims to bring a new international standarddata
centerto Vietnam.
The centre, which occupies a 1,900 m2 site, is designed and
equipped with global data center Telehouse standards to
ensure round-the-clock security for customers’ data and
minimize any risks, even during power cuts. Covering 39
locations in ten countries worldwide, the global Telehouse
central data system, which facilitates telecommunications
services, is now ready to provide its services to Vietnam.

Vietnam takes part
in 2010 Robocon competition |

The Robocon team
LH-LED, from Lac Hong University in Dong Nai province will
represent Vietnam in the final round of the 2010
Asia-Pacific Robocon contest with the theme “Robo-Pharaohs
Build Pyramids”, to be held in Cairo, Egypt on September 21,
2010.
The LH-LED team beat 34 teams from universities, colleges
and high schools nationwide to win the 2010 Vietnam robot
competition held in May.
Originally launched in Japan in 2002, Robocon is an annual
contest held by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, to
encourage robotic inventions by young people in the region.

Vietnam & France
reach deal on lab establishment |
|
Vietnam and France on September 16, 2010 agreed to cooperate
in establishing an international alliance laboratory - a
France-Vietnam Particle Physics Laboratory.
This was the follow-up to a cooperation agreement signed by
the Vietnamese and French Governments on November 12, 2009
aimed at developing and using nuclear energy for peaceful
purposes.
The cooperation would focus on graduate, master degree and
doctorate training for young Vietnamese physicists, in both
France and Vietnam, and help Vietnamese researchers being
trained in France to work in related areas.

Active 10-day
program celebrates Hanoi’s 1000 years |
|
The organizer of the 1000 year Thang Long - Hanoi
Anniversary has announced details of the main activities to
take place as part of the great10-dayfestival (from 1/10 -
10/10). Accordingly, an opening ceremony for the ten days
will take place on October 1 at Ly Thai To Flower Garden
(see picture), followed by art performances around the Hoan
Kiem (Restored Sword) Lake and other programs including a
historic and revolutionary film week, plus live television
broadcasts to “The country and Hanoi” on VTV (Vietnam
Television). A series of exhibitionsabout the 1000-years
ofThang Long – Hanoi plus opening ceremonies of key projects
will also occur duringthe ten day festival period.

Mid-autumn Festival |
|
The Mid-Autumn
Festival, also known as "Tet Trung Thu" in Vietnamese, is a
popular harvest festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of
the eighth month of the lunar calendar. This year the Trung
Thu Festival fell onSeptember 22.
One important event before and during the Vietnamese
Mid-Autumn Festival is lion dances. Lion dance groups
perform on the streets or go to houses asking for permission
to perform for them. If accepted by the host, "the lion"
will come in and start dancing to bring luck and fortune and
the host gives lucky money to show thanks.
The purpose of Trung Thu Festival is to promote education,
innovative ideas, music, sports, arts and crafts and poetry
to young people.
