PROGRAM DEVELOPS ‘SERVICE MINDSET’ IN FPT SOFTWARE |
|
With a view to enhancing the already positive working attitude of its staff, FPT Software launched its Service Mindset Development Program (SMDP) recently. The SMDP is intended to promote FPT Software staff’s skills at understanding the requirements of its customers and of its commitment to consistently fulfill them. SMDP also aims to improve the quality of services for “internal customers”. In SMDP, customers can be one’s supervisors, colleagues and even staff from other Groups and Departments.
The program will be rolled out through various activities of the Company’s Operation Groups and Departments and is part of FPT Software’s five-year plan (2008-2012). |

PROCESS WEEK AT FPT SOFTWARE |

Since 2007, March 16th has become known as ‘Process Day’ at FPT Software, a day to honor the QA team for their contribution to the Company and remind all ‘FSofters’ of the importance of Process in assuring software quality which is crucial to an outsourcing company like FPT Software.
This year, Process Day was expanded to become Process Week (March 10th to 15th, 2008). During this week, the Company’s leaders visited each QA officer to present him or her with a thank you gift and flower. A party followed, with lots of exciting activities and games. |

FPT UNIVERSITY TO ADMIT 1,200 NEW STUDENTS IN 2008 |
|
At the start of the new academic year in August 2008, FPT University will enroll 1,200 new students to its three training centers in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. Examinations for the fourth intake will start on April 20th, 2008. Eligible applicants are those who have graduated/will graduate from high school (12th graders) by June 2008.
To qualify for enrollment, students not only need to score higher than the minimum grade in the July 2008 entrance exams, but also pass two 120-minute math and logical thinking multiple–choice tests and write an essay in 60minutes.
FPT University guarantees employment and a generous salary to its graduates. |

VIETNAMESE PM’S EUROPEAN VISIT FILLED WITH OPPORTUNITY |
|
PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his wife left Hanoi to pay an official visit to UK, Germany and Ireland from the March 3rd to 11th at the invitation of the British Prime Minister, German Chancellor and Irish Prime Minister.
During his visit, PM Dung met with representatives from Harvey Nash, one of FPT Software’s UK customers. Mr. Paul Smith, Managing Director of Harvey Nash, shared with the PM some of his working experiences and outlined why he chose Vietnam to be a long-term partner. Harvey Nash worked with the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce to deliver a Business Forum to over 500 UK British Businessman.
Accompanying the PM on his visit were a delegation from State and Government agencies together with a diverse group of Vietnamese businessmen, including Vice General Director of FPT, Hoang Minh Chau, there to promote investment and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the three European countries. |

ST MICROELECTRONIC TO INVEST IN VIETNAM |

On February 28th 2008, representatives from the ST Microelectronic Corporation held a meeting with Vice Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and officials from the Communication and Information Ministry to discuss the cooperation plan to deploy comprehensive solutions for hardware and software, training and research.
ST Microelectronic is one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies and is co-coordinating with the Hanoi University of Technology in the delivery of semiconductor training programs. |

2008 - A TURNING POINT FOR VIETNAM’S IT INDUSTRY |

According to Mr. Pham Thien Nghe, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Information Technology, in 2008, many changes will take place in Government policies such as E-Government and E-Banking. The IT Industrial Market will register fast growth with higher investment from foreign investors, especially in IT products and IT applications. Mr. Nghe also forecasts that the number of IT companies in Ho Chi Minh City will grow by 30%, and that 30-40% more human resource will be needed for the IT Industry. 2008 is set to be a turning-point for Vietnam’s IT Industry, and the country will have to embrace the new opportunities. |

| "ONSITERS"' FAMILIES RECEIVE LOVE FROM AFAR |

On March 8th this year (International Women’s Day), many wives, mothers, grandmothers and sisters of FPT Software ‘onsiters’ – FPT Software employees who are working overseas – were thrilled to receive love from their beloved husbands, sons, nephews and brothers, in the form of small presents. The neatly wrapped scarves, wallets and bouquets of the freshest flowers were specially delivered, to the surprise and joy of the recipients.
This is the result of Youth Union’s (YU) hard work and thoughtfulness towards FPT Software’s onsiters and their families. YU wilingly accepted all requests from onsiters to deliver presents to their beloved women on this special day. |

| FIRST INTERNATIONAL PARACHUTING FESTIVAL IN VIETNAM |
|
From March 1st to 6th, way up above the golden stretch of sand and the rippling blue sea of Nha Trang, 160 professional parachutes from Vietnam and 15 other countries amazed spectators with dazzling stunts in the air. This was the first-ever international parachuting festival for members of the International Parachuting Commission to be hosted by Vietnam. Not only did it give tourists, guests and local residents a chance to feast their eyes on some of the dangerous yet spectacular acrobatics, but it was also the first of many sporting, cultural and tourism activities and events that Nha Trang will be hosting this year. |
